Perhaps the pedestal was not where they should have been to begin with?
I am not saying that in a bad way at all….I remember a former dominant partner of mine saying that it made him feel so much pressure… And that I didn’t see him as a real and flawed person… but more of an ideal

That’s the truth! I always hated it when people put me up on some weird pedestal… So much expectation that I could never live up to. I’d sabotage immediately just to breathe. I try to always remember that! (post was more of a general statement than anything)
